Hey everyone! I'm not looking for a detailed shopping list but more of a discussion. I'm a casual gamer and I'm almost 40, so I'm not into the most intense games. Right now, I have a PC build with a GTX 1660, which works fine for me, and I have an oversized case with some cooling fans already set up. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 4060 build. My budget is around $800 to $1000. I'm wondering if this upgrade is achievable or if I'm getting ahead of myself, especially since I plan to replace the motherboard and CPU too. I'm ready to do my research, but I'd love to know if this is a realistic upgrade for my situation. Thanks for your input, and I hope you're all having a great day!

Based on your budget, I think upgrading to a 4060 is definitely possible! Since you already have a case and some cooling, you’re halfway there. Just do your research on compatible motherboards and CPUs to make sure everything works together before you buy.
To help you out, it would be good to share what components you currently have in your build. That way, we can figure out the best upgrade path for you. If you're looking to upgrade to a 4060, you'll likely need to replace the motherboard as well, especially since you're skipping so many GPU generations. Also, just a heads up, DDR5 memory is now out, so it might be worth considering that for your build.
Yeah, definitely keep in mind that with such a big GPU upgrade, it's common to need a new motherboard too. And upgrading to DDR5 RAM would keep your build future-proof!
Totally agree! Plus, if you're going for a motherboard that supports DDR5, you'll be ahead in the game for future upgrades!
