Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 7 3700X but I'm not super knowledgeable about this stuff, so I hope my questions aren't too basic. I've noticed that most new CPUs that would be compatible require me to also upgrade my motherboard and RAM, which seems pricey, especially since RAM costs a lot right now. I've read about the 5700X3D and 5800X3D, but they're pretty expensive too. Would it be better to go for something more budget-friendly like the 5800X or even a 5600? Will I actually see a significant performance boost for gaming with these options? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, the 5800X3D would be awesome, but its price tag is high! Meanwhile, the 5700X is around $150-200 and will definitely feel faster in gaming scenarios. The 5600X also works if you're keeping things a bit simpler, but don’t expect major miracles.
The 5700X and 5800X are excellent CPUs and will give you a notable performance bump. Just make sure your motherboard is compatible and that you update your BIOS after the upgrade. It's a great move if you're into gaming, trust me!
Have you checked if there’s a Micro Center nearby? They've been offering some solid AMD combo deals lately. If you're in Australia like me, unfortunately, that option’s out! But for RAM costs, it’s wild how it can push upgrades out of reach when you're just trying to improve performance.
Going for a 5600X or 5700X is definitely a solid choice! They offer a decent performance improvement without breaking the bank. Just keep an eye on their prices and benchmarks to see what fits your needs best. For gaming, you won't really need the extra cores of the higher models, so the 5 series should do you good at a better price.

Yeah, I wish! Here in Australia, the prices for RAM alone can be more than what I'd spend on a 5700X3D on eBay or Amazon. Crazy times for upgrades!
