Hey folks! I'm currently using a 32GB DDR5 setup (Corsair Vengeance 5600 MHz CL36) and thinking about upgrading to a 64GB kit (Kingston DDR5 6000 MHz CL36) for about R$4,200 (around $760 USD). I haven't made the purchase yet, so I'm looking for your advice. Here are a few things to consider:
1. I don't really need that much RAM right now but with multiple browser tabs, VS Code, WhatsApp, and other apps open, I sometimes feel limited with 32GB.
2. For gaming, I primarily play titles like Battlefield 6, CS2, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
3. Occasionally, I run Docker containers and some virtualization work for Python projects, but nothing too intense.
I don't do any streaming or video editing.
I'd love your insights on a few points:
A) Is R$4,200 a reasonable price for a 64GB DDR5 kit based on current trends? Do you think RAM prices might drop soon?
B) What resale value could I expect for my current 32GB kit? How much of an effective price difference should I anticipate with this upgrade?
C) Given my usage and plans to keep this PC for about 5 more years, is this upgrade truly worthwhile? My setup includes a Ryzen 9 9800X3D, ASUS TUF B850 motherboard, Radeon RX 9070, and Kingston Fury Renegade SSD. Thanks for any advice!

I would say skip it! The prices right now are outrageous. Why pay so much for something you don’t need? Stick with your 32GB for now and see if it holds up.
100% agree! It doesn’t make sense to upgrade unless you’re struggling.
Honestly, I don't think you need 64GB right now. If your current RAM is handling your tasks and you're not experiencing major slowdowns, I’d recommend waiting. RAM prices are skyrocketing at the moment, and it doesn't seem justified to spend that much unless you really need it. Hold off until prices stabilize or drop.
That's a good point! It's always better to wait it out instead of jumping into high prices.
Yeah, prices are nuts! I'd hold off for sure.
It's just not worth it in this economy. Unless your workloads are demanding more than 32GB, it feels like an unnecessary splurge. A lot of users are finding that they can get by comfortably without that extra RAM right now.
Exactly, save your money for when you really need it.
Well said! Don't fall for the upgrade trap.
If you're not facing any issues with your current setup, just keep it for now. In the gaming world, 32GB is still pretty solid. Unless you're diving into really demanding games or heavy multitasking, you might not need that upgrade just yet.
True, especially since gaming evolves quickly. Better to wait!
Yeah, stick to your guns. Don't let hype dictate your spending.
Great analogy! Think about it this way: if you don't need a bigger microwave just because others are paying more, then why upgrade your RAM unnecessarily? You don't have crunch time now, so why spend the cash?
Exactly! Makes total sense. Just because there's FOMO doesn't mean you have to give in.
Classic example! I’d say stick with what works for now.

No kidding! Spend wisely, my friend.
