I've been thinking about upgrading my monitor to 1440p, but I've heard mixed things about how 1080p content looks on it. Some say it can lead to something called "moire blur" that you don't see on a 4K monitor due to the pixel density. The thing is, most of what I watch is still stuck at 1080p, so it's got me worried. I have a few questions:
1. Should I go for a 1440p monitor and deal with 720p content?
2. Would it be better to save up and jump straight to 4K instead?
3. Or is it wiser to stick with 1080p? I've also considered going for ultra-wide FHD (2560x1080p) as a potential upgrade.

I think your concerns are valid but also remember that many people report that streaming services like YouTube compress content in a way that makes the transition smoother. Just keep that in mind!
It sounds like you might be overthinking it! I've got a 1440p monitor and watch a lot of 1080p stuff, and I honestly haven’t noticed any moiré effect. It might just be that some monitors showcase this better than others or that certain people are more sensitive to it. I’d say go for the 1440p!
I've read about this too, and it seems like it varies a lot. Some people really notice the blur on their 1440p monitors while others don’t at all. It might depend on the quality of your monitor. So for me, I’d lean towards option #1. Just test it out and see if it bugs you.
That actually helps ease my mind a bit! I was worried I’d regret the upgrade. Glad to hear you’ve had a good experience!
I hope you're right! I keep hearing about how bad it can be, and it makes me hesitate. But I guess some people are just more sensitive to visual issues than others, huh?
