Is Upgrading to a 5060ti the Right Move for Me?

Hey everyone! After six long years, my trusty 1660ti is starting to show its age, with games slowing down and my system freezing under heavy loads. I wouldn't even think of replacing it if it weren't for these issues—it really was a great card for the money! With the current inflated prices, I'm looking to upgrade to a 5060ti 16GB, but I have some doubts and questions for you all:

1. Is the 5060ti the right fit for me? I currently game at 1080p, 60FPS, but I'd like to have the option to upgrade to a 2K monitor later. I also want something that can handle competitive gaming at around 144fps. Plus, I'm curious about playing upcoming titles like GTA 6 without too much trouble, even if it's all speculative performance right now.

2. How does the 5060ti stack up against other cards in the same price bracket? The 9060 XT isn't too far off in price (about 40/50 euros more), so should I stick with Nvidia over AMD?

3. I have a 650W PSU—will that suffice for the 5060ti (which has a TDP of 180W)? I'm also planning to upgrade my CPU to a 5700x3d (which has a TDP of 105W) soon.

Any additional tips or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

1. Absolutely, the 5060ti can handle 2K gaming and 144 fps in competitive titles if you tweak some settings. I'm running at 144 on high settings in competitive games myself!

2. When it comes to raw performance, the 5060 beats the 9060XT, but the Framegen tech gives Nvidia an edge in longevity and performance in games.

3. A 650W PSU should be just fine for your setup!

If you can snag the 5060ti 16GB for around 430€, I’d say go for it—especially if you're into Nvidia's tech! The 9060XT is good too, but for just a bit more, the 5060ti is worth it.

And regarding your PSU, 650W is typically sufficient, but it’s always a good practice to check the minimum recommended PSU from the manufacturer. I'm using an RTX 5070 with a 650W PSU, and it's working great for me!

1. Just a heads up, 2K is technically 2048x1080, not 2560x1440! But to answer your question, the 5060ti will definitely handle what you're looking for, including GTA 6, although that's all guesswork at this point.

2. The Nvidia choice is pricier but might give you slightly better performance (around 5% more), plus it supports DLSS, which is cooler than the AMD offering. Just make sure to grab the 16GB model for longevity; more VRAM is a big plus!

3. Your 650W PSU should be more than enough for the setup you're planning, but always check the manufacturer's recommendation just to be safe!
