Is upgrading to a 5070 worth it this Black Friday?

I'm considering upgrading my current graphics card from a 4070 to a 5070 this Black Friday. I've looked into the resale value of my 4070, and I believe I could get at least $375 for it. Given that, I'm wondering if making this upgrade is really worth it, or if I should hold out for something better—or even just stick with what I have.

If you're getting consistent performance on your 4070 but feel it's underperforming, maybe optimizing your settings or overclocking could solve your issues without needing to upgrade immediately. Upgrade only if you find a specific game you want to run better!

Optimization is key! Sometimes a simple setting adjustment can boost performance.

Totally agree with that. If you're not struggling, maybe wait for a better option!

If you can snag a 5070 for less than $500, then I'd say go for it! But keep in mind that the performance gains might not be significant enough to make a big difference over your 4070. Just make sure you're not upgrading just because it's on sale—that could end up being a money loss.

Exactly! You don’t want to fall into the trap of just buying something because it’s discounted.

Right, performance differences can be disappointing sometimes. It's good to weigh your options!

I think you should consider the 5070 Ti if you can, as it would provide a more noticeable upgrade. You'll get 16GB of VRAM, which is advantageous for future-proofing. But if the price is right for a 5070, it could still be worth it if you need something now!

PixelProwler -

That's a solid point! The extra VRAM could make a big difference down the line.

QuickFireDan -

Absolutely! VRAM is becoming more and more important with new games.

Honestly, going from a 4070 to a 5070 is more of a sidegrade than a real upgrade. If you're set on getting a new card, look for a 5070 Ti instead, which might be found for under $750. That's a much better investment and will future-proof your system a bit more.

CardCollector88 -

Yeah, the 5070 Ti definitely offers more bang for your buck compared to the regular 5070.

PCMasterAce99 -

True! The 5070 Ti would give you a better performance boost for a longer time.

Don't hesitate too much! The GPU market is pretty unpredictable right now, and with prices changing, if you see a deal you like for the 5070, jump on it. But if you can afford it, a 5070 Ti is really the way to go.

RoboGamer2000 -

Yeah, it's always good to plan ahead, but sometimes the right opportunity won't come again!

LightingFastEd -

Exactly! Prices can fluctuate rapidly, so getting a good deal now could save you later.
