I'm thinking about upgrading my PC by swapping out my i7-12700 for an i9 and my GPU from a 3070 to a 4080. I'm curious if this will significantly boost my performance, especially for overclocking. Any thoughts?

Are you mostly looking to improve your gaming performance? What's your current resolution? Just a heads up, the RTX 4080 has been out of production for a while now, and prices can be crazy. You might want to consider newer options like the RTX 5070 Ti or 5080, or even the RX 9070 XT if you're in the market for a new card.
You might want to check out some comparison videos between the i7-12700 and the i9 to see if the upgrade is really worth it. Honestly, I wouldn't rush into getting an i9; the performance gain might not be as big as you expect.
Oh for real? I had no idea they were out of production! I'm just mimicking my friend's build since he upgraded, but I mainly game at 1080p. Just hoping for the best frame rates possible.
