Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my setup and I want to turn my primary monitor into a secondary one while getting a new 1440p monitor. Here's what I have right now: an i5 12400F processor, B660m ds3h ddr4 motherboard, a Gigabyte RTX 3060 OC 12G, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, and a SilentiumPC Vero L3 700W power supply. I mostly play competitive games like CS2 and PUBG, plus a few AAA titles now and then, but I don't mind sacrificing graphic settings for performance. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 5070. Would this be a good choice for handling 1440p gaming?

Upgrading to the RTX 5070 would definitely be a solid move for 1440p gaming! While 12GB of VRAM might feel a bit on the low side in the long run, since you're primarily focused on competitive titles and not aiming for max settings, it should serve you well while achieving around 200fps. Just make sure your cooling and power supply can handle the new GPU!
Honestly, there's no such thing as overkill for 1440p! But if you're asking about the RTX 5070, it may not be quite up to par for heavy AAA titles at that resolution without downscaling. So if you're mostly playing older or less demanding games, it should be fine, but keep an eye out for performance benchmarks for those AAA games if that's what you'll be diving into!
Yeah, I've heard that the 5070 struggles with 4K, so it might not be the best bet for 1440p high settings either. It's good for a balance, but check how demanding your favorite AAA games are!
Thanks for the insights! I really want to maintain that 200fps for my competitive games.
