Is Upgrading to Ryzen 7 5700X Worth It for Gaming at 1440p?

I'm currently gaming at 1440p with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RTX 4070, and I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU. My budget is around 300 AUD, and I found the Ryzen 7 5700X priced at about 280 AUD, which fits perfectly. I mainly play demanding titles like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077, and I'm looking for a smoother gaming experience with more stable FPS and less CPU bottleneck. Are there any better CPU alternatives in this price range that would pair well with my 4070?

Upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5700X gives you two more cores, but honestly, that's not a huge upgrade for gaming performance. If you're after something that really boosts your gaming experience, the 5700X3D could be better due to its larger cache, or consider moving to a newer platform for better single-core performance. But those options will likely cost more than your budget.

I just want something better, not necessarily a massive upgrade. Just feels like my CPU is holding me back.
