I'm currently building my first gaming PC and I'm debating whether spending an extra $70 on Windows 11 Pro is really necessary. I want to know if the benefits justify the cost or if the standard version would suffice for gaming. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, 9060XT GPU, MSI Pro B650-P WiFi motherboard, 32GB of 6000 MT/s DDR5 RAM, RAIDMAX Cobra 850W PSU, and a Samsung 990 2TB SSD.

Honestly, if you’re unsure about its worth, it’s probably not necessary for you. For gaming, the basic version should work just fine!
The main difference between Home and Pro is features, not performance. Pro is geared towards those who need advanced functionality for work or serious multitasking. Since you're gaming, Home should have everything you need.
Think about whether you really need the extra features that come with Pro. If you're just gaming, things like domain join or BitLocker probably aren't in your plans. If you don’t even know what those features are, it might be a sign you don’t need that version at all!
I actually think it might be worth it, but only if you know you'll use some pro features. Otherwise, stick with Home unless you're planning to do more professional tasks in the future.
What features are you thinking of? If they don't seem beneficial to your gaming setup, I'd say just go for the Home version.

Great, now I feel confident that Home is the way to go!
