Issues Installing Drivers for My New GTX 1060 – Need Help!

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for some advice on a GPU upgrade I've recently attempted. I bought a second-hand GeForce GTX 1060 6GB to replace my old GTX 1050Ti, thinking it would be a good choice for my aging system (H110M-A/M.2). Windows recognizes the new GPU, but I just can't get the drivers to install properly. I've tried the latest drivers from the Nvidia app, but I keep running into a code 43 error after rebooting, which indicates there's a required installation issue.

I've also used DDU to uninstall any previous drivers and then attempted to reinstall, but the monitor isn't receiving any signal from the new card. I even did an EC reset to no avail. Any ideas on how I can resolve this problem?

Thanks for your help!

P.S. I'm on Windows 10.

From my experience, if a GPU has a hardware issue, it won't accept any driver installation. I recommend checking if your card is faulty. Also, for the price you paid for the GTX 1060, you might have been better off with a used RTX 2060 instead as the 1060 is getting pretty old.

It was £60. Honestly, I don't know much about GPUs but thought it would work with my setup. But now I see your point!
