Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a rough time trying to install Ubuntu on my Lenovo Gaming 3 laptop, which is currently running Windows 11. I played around with Ubuntu in live mode and I think it's the OS I've been searching for. However, the installation hasn't been going as planned.
Here's what I've done so far: I downloaded the latest Ubuntu LTS version and made a bootable USB stick. Initially, I tried running it via live USB without installing it. But when I decided to go for the installation, I didn't get the option to install Ubuntu alongside Windows.
I've already disabled Secure Boot in my BIOS and checked that Windows Fast Startup is disabled, so that's not the issue.
Currently, I'm facing a few problems: After some restarts and checking the BIOS, my first USB stick stopped being recognized, so I created a second one with the same installer which did get recognized. However, the installation process is super slow and I keep running into an error before reaching the install screen that says the installer can't continue. I really don't know what to do next.
Could this be due to a USB issue, a corrupted ISO file, or some settings in my BIOS? Any advice would be awesome!
TL;DR: I'm unable to install Ubuntu on my Lenovo Gaming 3; the first USB isn't recognized anymore and the second one only gets halfway through before throwing errors.

Man, I feel your pain. I also got the 'uh-oh. We don't know what went wrong, but can't continue' error today during my install attempts. It’s super frustrating! You might want to check your USB sticks and also try a different USB port; sometimes that can help.
Before you try again, make sure you free up some space on your Windows partitions using the disk management tool. It’s important to have enough room for the Ubuntu installation, and that might help with your problem. Let me know how that goes!
Thanks for the tip! I just created a new partition on Windows and I'm back in the installer now.
Good luck! Hope it works out this time!
Yeah, I've tried switching ports, but I’ll double-check the USB stick integrity just to be safe.
