Issues Installing Windows on Asus B850-Plus Mobo – Could It Be the Drivers or a Faulty Board?

I'm building a new PC with an Asus B850-Plus motherboard, a 7800X3D CPU, and 64GB of Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM. Unfortunately, I've been stuck trying to resolve a driver issue before I can even get started. I've installed every driver I could find from ASUS and ensured that Secure Boot and TPM are both enabled and disabled at various points.

I've tried three different drives and even removed the graphics card during the process. I also updated the BIOS to the June 13th version, but I'm still facing the same issues. When attempting to install Windows 11 using the 2024 ISO, I get an "Error scanning drivers" message. With the Windows 11 Build Creation Tool, it starts to create partitions, but halfway through the installation at 11%, I receive an "Installation Error" dialog box. Using the Windows 10 2022 ISO leads to a message stating that no new device drivers were found, instructing me to ensure the installation media has the right drivers. When I disable TPM, Windows 11 won't install either, which makes me think there's a problem.

I have successfully installed and run Ubuntu, leading me to believe that the hardware could be fine, but multiple Google searches suggest that this might be a bad motherboard. I'm curious if anyone has encountered this before or if there's something I might be missing. Should I just return the board?

Did you get the WiFi version of that Asus B850-Plus? Make sure you have the antennas connected in the back. There’s a non-WiFi version of the board too, so just double-check on that. It could affect driver installations if Windows is expecting a WiFi setup and doesn't find it.

Yes, I purchased the WiFi version. Initially, I had the antenna attached but did most of my testing with a wired connection. Do you think that could impact the driver detection? We're not even asked for a WiFi connection at this point—it feels like Windows won't proceed without the correct driver.
