Issues with MSI Carbon 870E WiFi After Driver Updates

I recently installed an MSI Carbon 870E board with an AMD 9800X3D, and while everything else is running smoothly, I'm facing a frustrating WiFi issue. Initially, the WiFi worked perfectly after installation, but once the first batch of Windows updates were installed, the WiFi has been disabled. In device manager, I see a message stating, "This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE."

I've done some research and it appears this issue is common with the Qualcomm 7800. Some users have resolved it by unplugging the power cord and holding the power button, or by clearing the CMOS, but those didn't work for me. What's puzzling is that the driver version showing up is from July 4, 2023, which is not the one I originally installed. Even after trying to disable and uninstall the device, it keeps reverting to that older driver version. I've installed all necessary chipset drivers, and while Bluetooth and audio are functioning, the WiFi continues to be a headache since it was working fine before the updates.

To prevent Windows from auto-installing drivers, you can stop it from doing so:

1. Press Windows + R to open the Run command.
2. Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
3. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update.
4. Find "Do not include drivers with Windows Update" and double-click it.
5. Set it to Enabled, then click Apply and OK.

After that, try uninstalling the WiFi driver from Device Manager, ensuring to check the box for removing the driver as well. Then restart and install the drivers directly from the MSI website: [MSI WiFi Driver](https://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/mb/qualcomm_ncm865_wifi.zip).

I followed those steps but still ran into issues. It seems like the old drivers just won’t budge.

Did you also check if your BIOS has any settings regarding WiFi? Sometimes those can mess with connectivity.
