I accidentally spilled a bit of soda near my 7-year-old Acer laptop. I quickly cleaned it up with paper towels and a cleaner I had on hand, but now my keyboard is acting weird. At first, when I pressed 'o', it typed '0' and moved the cursor to the start of the text. Now, the keyboard isn't responding at all. Everything else, like the screen, touchpad, and other peripherals, are working fine, which makes me wonder if this is a good sign for recoverability. Is there a chance the keyboard can be fixed, or should I take it to a professional? I'm willing to pay since this laptop means a lot to me.

If your model allows for it, check if the keyboard can be easily removed. Sometimes they just pop out or have screws that hold them in place. If there's no soda on the internal parts, then likely it's just the keyboard that needs replacing. But if it's integrated into the top plate, fixing it may require significant effort and could end up costing more than a new laptop. Check for tutorials online; you can do it yourself if you feel confident!
Quick question — how can I tell if my keyboard is part of the top plate? I found some screws on the bottom, but I’m not sure if they detach the top part.
