I'm struggling with a really frustrating issue. Whenever I connect my laptop to an external monitor, I experience random sound mutes almost every few minutes while gaming or listening to music. The sound just cuts out and I have to manually adjust the volume slider back up. Interestingly, this only seems to happen when I'm using my laptop with the monitor; when I use it alone, there's no problem. Here's my setup:
- Laptop: Asus ROG G16 (2024 Model with RTX 4070)
- Monitor: Asus ROG XG27ACMG
- Peripherals: Razer Tartarus Keypad, Razer Naga Mouse, Asus ROG wireless Scope 2 96rx keyboard
- Speaker System: Edifier S351
I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. I'm even offering a Steam gift card as a reward for anyone who can help me figure this out. I'm really at my wits' end!

I’ve faced similar issues! I tried using both a 3.5mm audio cable and Bluetooth, and the sound still cuts out. It usually happens randomly while gaming, and I notice that when I adjust the scroll wheel, the sound comes back temporarily. So strange! It seems to happen at intervals between 2 and 20 minutes, and I really can’t pinpoint the cause.
Have you checked your Device Manager for any flickering notifications or disconnect warnings when the sound cuts out? It's worth looking into how your Edifier speakers are connected—are you using a DAC or is it a different setup? That might give a clue as to what's going on.
