Laptop Stuck on HP Logo – Need Help!

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've got an HP ProBook that's been stuck on a black screen with just the HP logo for the past three days. I can get into the startup menu, but it takes about an hour to load, and when I try to update the software, BIOS, or system boot, the screen just goes grey for a while before reverting back to the logo. I realize there might not be a fix for this, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it. I'm a student, so I can't afford to repair or replace my laptop right now.

First off, try checking if your hard drive is detected in the BIOS. If you see an option for hardware testing, run a test for your drive's health. If that comes back okay, it looks like your Windows might just be messed up, and you could reinstall from a USB. There's a guide [here](https://rtech.support/windows/) that walks you through it!

I ran the hard drive test, but it says there's no hard drive installed. Should I check the power and data cables? Am I on the right track? Thanks for your help!
