If i log off in the evening and put my laptop into sleep or hibernate mode, every single morning I come back and the machine has powered itself back on and is at the login screen. This is super annoying and a big waste of electricity. I have never owned a laptop that has done this before. I seem to be having nothing but trouble with this laptop. Anyone know if there is a fix to it.

This is caused by wake timers. Turning them off requires a bit of an adventure through the windows 10 settings but if you follow the trail below, you will find the wake timer option in the power settings and this will allow you to disable the service that is automatically turning the laptop back on when you put it to sleep in the evenings.

Settings->Power & Sleep -> Additional Power Settings -> Change Plan Settings -> Changed Advanced Power Settings -> Sleep -> Allow Wake Timers -> Disable them!!

Allow Wake Timers Missing?

If the wake timers option is missing, you will need to do some extra work to enable the option again. You can use the .reg file available in this guide to turn the option back on and from there, you will be able to edit it to turn off the wake timers. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/65716-add-remove-allow-wake-timers-power-options-windows-10-a.html
