Looking for a Budget-Friendly CPU to Pair with a 6900XT

I'm searching for a cost-effective CPU option that won't burn a hole in my wallet, especially given the current prices. I want something that works well with the 6900XT but I'd prefer to avoid DDR5. Ideally, I'm aiming for something comparable to the i9 10850K, but cheaper since I'm on a budget.

For gaming at 1440p, it seems like the 10850K should be sufficient to avoid bottlenecking your GPU. Are you getting close to 100% utilization on your 6900XT when you unlock the framerate?

If you already have the 10850K, upgrading might not be necessary. It handles high-performance GPUs like the 6900XT decently at 1440p. If you decide to upgrade anyway, maybe look into the 5800X3D or something newer, as they’ll provide better benefits. Otherwise, you could just be spending money for slight improvements.

The 10700 series is pretty affordable and performs well too. I'm currently using a 10700K with an overclocked 3060XT and I'm really happy with it!

That's good to know! I've been considering the 10700 series, especially since they have great performance for the price.
