I'm looking to upgrade my GPU but need to stay within a budget. I currently have around £300, plus potentially an extra £100 - £150 if I sell my 1080Ti. The 1080Ti is starting to show its age, running a bit hotter, and performing slightly worse in benchmarks than it used to. It could possibly be the riser degrading, though. I was considering a 3070 or 2080Ti since those seemed the best options for my CPU, but I'm not sure if they're worth the investment anymore. Do you have any recommendations for a good GPU upgrade under my budget, or maybe a better/newer model? Also, I'm curious if selling all my components could get me a better build; I'd have around £800 to work with. Here are my specs: Ryzen 3600XT, Asus Strix 1080Ti OC, Fractal Ridge PCIE 4, Seasonic Focus 650 SFX-L, MSI MPG B550i, NH-L9a Chromax Black, Vengeance Pro 16GB 3600MHz, and I game at 1440p.

You might want to look into either the 9060xt 16GB or the RTX 5070. Those would fit your budget nicely. Just keep in mind that prices on GPUs are still fluctuating, so it might be worth waiting a month to see if they drop further before you buy. There’s also the 5060 ti 16GB if you’re leaning towards NVIDIA.
Yeah, those are solid options! Just make sure to wait it out if you can.
For about £450, you could go for the 9060xt 16GB and also think about upgrading to a 5600 CPU as a drop-in upgrade. If that's too much, just the GPU could still be a great option. The 5060ti 16GB is another good choice if you prefer NVIDIA, but considering your setup, the PCIe 4.0 compatibility should be a benefit. Just avoid the 8GB models for sure!
8GB never, 12GB maybe, 16GB absolutely yes!
Great info, thanks! A 5600X sounds doable if I sell my 3600XT.
Interesting, thank you!
