Looking for a Controller Recommendation for Racing Games

I want to surprise my boyfriend with a good controller for racing games. I'm currently using a PS5 controller, but I'm curious if there are better options out there. He usually plays while lying down, so please don't suggest a racing wheel! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

An Xbox controller, or any generic version of it, tends to work really well for Windows gaming. It's pretty much plug and play, so you won’t have to deal with complicated setup.

But what about the haptics? Aren't they a big part of the experience?

You really can't go wrong with either the Xbox or PS5 controllers. If he wants something really unique, check out the 8bitdo Ultimate controllers. They’re known for having no stick drift and have extra shoulder buttons. Just make sure to choose the right version though, since they have some that are specifically for different consoles!

8BitDo is a great choice! They have nice features and a solid feel. Plus, if you're looking for something different, consider the Gamesir controllers too. They have some good options out there!

Honestly, if he's really into racing, a wheel would be ideal! But I get it; it's all about personal preference. Maybe ask him directly what he thinks? That could help you nail it down.

Trust me, he’s not into wheels! He plays from bed and prefers a controller when he’s relaxing.

Have you considered the Manba 1 controller? It has an Xbox layout with a small LCD screen for settings like sensitivity and dead zones. It’s usually around €60, but I got mine for €40 on Temu — just be cautious with quality since it's hit or miss there.
