Looking for a GPU upgrade from my old GTX 760

Hey everyone! I have an i7 3770 and I'm not planning on upgrading anytime soon because I'm really tight on cash. I feel like my GTX 760 is holding me back in terms of frame rates for some games. What would be a good GPU upgrade for me?

If you can find an RX 580 for $50, that's a steal! I own one, and I've been super satisfied with it. Otherwise, a 5700 XT is great for about $150, but given you're on a tight budget, the RX 580 might be the best fit.

I'm probably leaning towards the RX 580, but thanks for the heads up! Gotta check the prices.

Just a heads up, the RX 580 will really max out the performance of your current CPU. Make sure it's a good fit for you.

A GTX 970 would be a great upgrade, and it's about twice as fast as your 760. Check out prices for RX 580, RX 570, and GTX 1060/1070/1080 as well. You should be able to find something that fits your budget!

I can't find any 970s in my area, would a GTX 960 be a decent alternative?

Thanks for the suggestion! Will my CPU bottleneck it, though?

How about going for a GTX 1060 6GB or an RX 1650 Super? They're solid options!

Thanks again! I'll look into their prices.

I've had good luck buying GPUs on eBay; just ensure the seller has good ratings. Avoid random sellers that look sketchy.

Totally agree! Make sure the seller has solid reviews and sells tech regularly. That gives you more peace of mind.

Keep an eye on deals! A 1080 Ti, 5700 XT, and 1660 Super can be found for around $100. Just remember, while the 1060 is a great upgrade, you might get better value out of one of those other cards if you can find a good deal. Hit up some local marketplaces, you might score a great deal!

Thanks for the tips! I'll check around. I'm in New Zealand, so prices might be higher, but I could maybe grab a 960 for 80 NZD if that's worth it.

Your old CPU might limit anything past a 1660, especially in certain games. Just something to think about.

Honestly, I think a GTX 1060 is the max you should aim for with your setup.

Thanks! I'll check that one out.
