I'm not super tech-savvy, but I'm in need of a Mac program that allows me to send and receive SMS messages from several different phone numbers. Ideally, I'd love the option to create new numbers whenever I need them. I can't use services like Google Voice or TextNow because they provide VoIP numbers. I do have an extra phone that I've been using for this purpose, but I don't want to keep paying for its service every month. I need these numbers mainly for verifying online accounts, and I want to manage everything from one place. I've tried posting in other forums but haven't had any success yet.

It sounds like you're looking for a SMS gateway or something similar. Check out apps like MightyText or AirDroid; they might cater to what you need. Just a heads up though, some features could be limited unless you go for a paid plan. And remember, keep everything legal! You don’t want to get in trouble with terms of service or anything.
You could also look into using multiple SIM cards with a device that can handle dual-SIMs. Some users have found success with that setup since it allows them to have multiple numbers without relying on services that might violate TOS. It's definitely an investment though, but it may save you on monthly fees if you do it right.
