Looking for a Reliable 2TB NVMe SSD – Which One Should I Choose?

I need to replace my current 2TB NVMe SSD because it's starting to fail. It randomly disappears from BIOS, which is really frustrating. My current drive is an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, and it's been in use for about 4 years, only filling up to around 70% capacity. I mostly use it for my operating system and games, and I'm not a heavy user. I'm considering several options:

- Crucial T500 (around €250-€260)
- Kingston KC3000 (around €270-€280)
- WD Black SN850X (around €250-€315)
- Samsung 990 Pro (with heatsink) (around €290-€350)
- Corsair MP600 PRO LPX (around €250)

All of these drives seem fast enough for my needs, but I'm more concerned about reliability than speed. I'm currently leaning towards the T500, as it's the easiest for me to get, but I'm curious if it's worth spending extra on something like the 990 Pro. Is the Samsung really worth the premium, or is it just a brand name at this point? I'd love to hear others' experiences with any of these drives!

If reliability is your priority, I’d suggest leaning toward the WD Black SN850X. I've had one myself, and it has performed flawlessly for over a year now. Plus, it's from a reputable brand that maintains good warranty support. If the T500 is significantly cheaper, though, it might be a solid choice for your usage. Speed differences won’t be noticeable for general use and gaming, but you can't go wrong with the WD brand.

Totally agree! The WD drives have had a good track record. Just make sure to check for any sales or promotions.

Before you buy anything, check if your current SSD is experiencing a known issue with Windows updates. I watched a video from JayzTwoCents about it, and it might help. If your problem relates to that, you could avoid spending on a new SSD right now!

Sounds like a worthwhile tip! I’ll look into that before making a purchase.

I’ve been using the T500 and SN850X without any issues. Samsung SSDs used to be the go-to, but I've had a couple fail on me, and the support was a hassle. If you're not pushing the drive hard, I’d go with whichever is cheaper between the T500 or the SN850X.

Good to know! I'll definitely consider the T500 since it's affordable and seems reliable.
