Hey everyone! I've been dealing with a pretty annoying issue on Windows 11. For the past week, I keep hearing that notification sound that indicates a USB device has been plugged in or unplugged, but I can't figure out what's causing it. I haven't changed any cables, and despite trying to unplug and replug all my USB devices, the sound still comes up randomly. I've checked the Windows event logs for kernel PnP and USB hub events, but nothing matches the times of the notifications. I even ran a PowerShell script that pulled some audio-related events, but it didn't provide any clarity. Has anyone else encountered this issue or know how I can track down the culprit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I actually switched the sound settings for 'device disconnect' to see if I could catch when it happens, and it turned out that was the cause! Just like you, I couldn't find anything logged in USBLogView, so it seems like something is disconnecting but isn't being tracked properly. Good luck figuring it out!
You might want to try using Nirsoft's USBLogView. It’s a handy tool that can help identify what devices are causing those notifications. I’ve found it useful for similar issues before. Just search for it, and you should be able to download it easily.
