Looking for a Secure Way for My Autistic Sister to Watch Her Movies on TV

I'm trying to find a reliable solution for my autistic sister, who loves watching classic Sesame Street movies. Currently, we're struggling with VCRs and VHS tapes, which just isn't sustainable anymore since they keep breaking down. She has about 90 videos that I've recently converted to digital format with subtitles. I initially thought about putting them all on her iPad, but I worry there might not be enough storage, and ideally, I want her to watch them on a TV instead.

So far, I tried using a USB drive connected to a smart TV, but I had to remove buttons like 'back' and 'home' because she kept navigating away from her movies. This limited her to only watching one movie at a time, and she found it confusing. I want a setup where if she accidentally clicks 'back' or 'home', it doesn't send her back to the TV's main menu, but rather keeps her in a dedicated space with all her movies. We also have a Plex subscription, but I haven't tested that yet. I'm not super experienced with tech solutions, so any advice on how to create a safe, straightforward viewing experience would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for something more DIY, VideoLooper is a great option that runs on a Raspberry Pi. It's quite simple to set up and can just loop videos. If you're tech-savvy, you could also program a four-button keyboard for pause and next controls!

You should definitely consider using Plex or Kodi with a streaming device like a Roku or Fire Stick. Both of these can be set up in kiosk mode, meaning she would only see the media library and can't exit to the main menu. This way, she can easily skip between her movies without getting lost.

Hey, have you thought about using streaming services like Amazon Prime or Hulu? They have a ton of seasons and movies available, which would make it super convenient for her to watch directly on her iPad without needing extra setups.

Another idea is to place the video app on her home screen where she can see it easily. Just show her the icon so she knows where to find it. A little guidance there can make a big difference.
