Looking for Advice on a $2400 PC Build for ML and Gaming

Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build a new PC with a budget around $2400 and I'd love to get your genuine advice before I settle on anything. My main uses will be machine learning (using frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow), gaming—I'm particularly excited for GTA 6 when it comes out—and general productivity tasks, including coding.

Here's what I'm considering so far:
- **CPU**: Ryzen 7 9800X3D for its great gaming performance and long-term value.
- **GPU**: I'm a bit torn between the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, which seems great for both ML and gaming, or the RX 9070 XT 16GB, which has better performance in gaming but may lack in ML support.
- **RAM**: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (might upgrade to 64GB later depending on my ML needs).
- **Storage**: 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD (planning to add more down the road).

From what I gather, NVIDIA GPUs excel in machine learning due to CUDA and Tensor cores, while AMD is more focused on gaming. I hope to find the best CPU and GPU combo under my budget that balances gaming and ML, prioritizing good thermals, reliability, and upgrade options.

So, my questions are: Should I stick with NVIDIA for ML even if AMD offers better FPS per dollar? Which GPU would you recommend within my budget? Also, are there good places to buy PC parts in NCR? I want a sensible and balanced build rather than a flashy one. Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and suggestions!

You're likely gonna have to cut some costs if you want those specs. I built a similar setup just last week and ended up over $2500 after tax. Make sure you account for fans and any mods. Just curious, what exactly did you build?

Definitely go for the 5070 Ti, though keep in mind it's over 1k for most models now. It’s worth checking out Microcenter or Newegg for refurbished options!

Where are you seeing it over 1k? Just last week it was under $800 in many places.

What if a refurbished unit crashes after a while?

A lot of AI tools run way better on NVIDIA GPUs. System RAM isn't that critical for AI unless you're running models on the CPU, which is generally slower. The 5070 Ti is slightly better than the 9070 XT for gaming, if you can splash out a bit more, it's a solid choice for both ML and gaming. Don’t stress too much about the RAM being exactly 6000 CL; anything between 5600 and 6400 will perform similarly.
