Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a PC setup for my son's birthday, but I admit I'm pretty clueless about this whole thing. He's turning 10 soon and wants a PC primarily for games like Roblox, Forza, MLB, and Minecraft (are those even available on PC?). I found a PC on Amazon that he likes, but I'm not sure if it's a good choice. We're trying to keep the budget under $800, but I also want to make sure it won't just be a waste of money. I also heard you can upgrade PCs over time, which is a nice bonus. Here are the specs of the PC he sent me:
- Brand: STGAubron
- Uses: Gaming, Streaming, Video Editing, Studying, Business
- OS: Windows 11 Home
- CPU: Ryzen 7 at 3.8 GHz
- Cache Size: 16 MB
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: 1TB Solid State Drive
- Connectivity: RGB Fans, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI, VGA
Thanks for any help you can provide!

It looks like this PC might be lacking a dedicated GPU, which is pretty important for gaming. Depending on the games he wants to play, you might run into performance issues. Are you open to learning how to build a PC together with your son? It could be a fun DIY project! Plus, having someone knowledgeable around would help if you decide to buy components separately.
I created a budget-friendly build for you: [link to PCPartPicker]. It’s not perfect, but it sticks to your budget with a bit left over for extras like a keyboard and mouse. I suggest going for a smaller SSD for the operating system and using a traditional hard drive for games and videos. If there’s a Microcenter near you, you might find better deals and they can help you build it, which is excellent for learning!
That’s amazing, thank you so much for the help!

I'm definitely willing to learn! I just don't know where to start, haha. He picked that one because he thought it looked "cool."
