I'm currently working with an AM4 system that has an RTX 3070 Ti, an X570 motherboard, and a Ryzen 7 3700X. My GPU is starting to overheat, likely because it's been through a lot over the years. I'm thinking about getting a new GPU that offers similar or slightly better performance, and I'm open to both NVIDIA and AMD options. If it fits my budget, I might also upgrade the CPU, but I'm definitely not switching to AM5.

The RX 9060 XT and the 5060 Ti are both around the same performance level as your 3070 Ti. If you choose either of those, you should see similar results without breaking the bank.
Nothing's wrong with your 3070 Ti! A good repasting and new thermal pads could help. Also, maybe try updating the motherboard BIOS to give it a little boost. If you’re still considering a CPU upgrade, the Ryzen 7 5700X is a good option since it’s compatible with your board and they're pretty cheap right now.
I'd suggest going for the 5800X. They’re affordable and can easily be tuned with PBO for better performance. Plus, it’s an easy upgrade on your AM4 platform.
Your location can really affect your options! If you're in the U.S. and have a Microcenter, you might find great deals. The 3070 Ti just needs some TLC—replacing the thermal paste and pads could get you through a while longer. If you still want something new, I’d recommend looking at the 5070 Ti or a plain 9070 since they would provide a decent upgrade without too much hassle.
Have you considered getting an RX 9060 XT with 16GB for around $400-450? It's a solid option! You could also look for a used Ryzen 7 5700X or 5800X if you're thinking about upgrading your CPU at the same time.

Totally agree! There’s really not much point in getting a new GPU that performs similarly. Just refresh the thermal materials and you'll likely get a lot more life from your 3070 Ti.
