I'm in search of some good yet inexpensive console servers that are easy to deploy. I've been using the Lantronix 3000 series, but its price is quite steep. I'm trying to cut down costs. One workaround I've thought of is setting up a standard server with a 16-port powered USB hub and using USB to serial adapters, but that setup takes a lot of time and limits how much I can scale. Any suggestions?

For remote console access, I usually just use a simple USB to multiple serial adapters. It's worked great for managing failover pairs; I can connect to both at once and use a terminal like PuTTY without issues.
Check out OpenGear! They’re reliable, but just be careful because they can be pricey, even more than Lantronix. It might be worth investigating other options if budget's tight, though!
I've worked with OpenGear before, and I think they’re pretty good. Also, WTI is another brand you might want to look into. They offer some decent features!
I really like BlackBox; it has a neat web interface and works well with TACACS. Plus, you can export and import configurations easily, it’s a real time-saver!

Yeah, I hear you on the cost. OpenGear is pretty solid, but if you're tight on cash, it might not be the best fit.
