Looking for Affordable Digital Signage Software Without RDP

I'm seeking recommendations for free or low-cost digital signage or remote access software that isn't Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). We have a computer tucked away in a closet where instructors post the class schedule. It can be a hassle to check and edit the schedule using a mouse and keyboard there. They would prefer a way to remote in, update the schedule, and display it on the TV, but RDP doesn't display the changes properly. Since we're a non-profit, our budget is pretty tight. Any suggestions?

Give Yodeck a shot. It's free for a single screen, and it works great on smart TVs or with a Firestick. You can easily update your content via their web interface, making it a solid choice for your needs.

Check out Screenly. It works well with Raspberry Pi and is pretty straightforward to use for digital signage.

I recommend AbleSign. It's simple, runs on Android TV devices, and has a free tier that meets our requirements. We’ve been pleased with it so far!

Garlic Signage is another option worth exploring. Plus, there's a comprehensive list of digital signage software available online if you're looking for even more choices.

OptiSigns could be a good fit too. It's not free, but it's $15 a month per display. You can manage everything from their web portal, and it even offers low-cost players that can plug right into a TV.
