Looking for Affordable GPUs: What’s Worth Getting Right Now?

Hey everyone, my current GPU, a 4060 Ti, seems to be on its last legs. It's kind of surprising since it's been running cool, but it just stopped working after booting Windows. I managed to revive it a couple of times by baking it, but I doubt it will last much longer. I'm now searching for a cheap interim graphics card, something in the $50 to $150 range, that can handle titles like Baldur's Gate 3 at 1080p, even if that means lowering some settings. Any suggestions?

If you're into a bit of hunting, sometimes you can find a 2070 Super around $150. It's definitely better performance-wise, so it’s worth keeping an eye out. Just make sure to verify it's not been heavily mined or damaged.

Good advice! Mining can really take a toll on those cards.

Have you thought about reaching out for warranty support? The 4060 Ti is pretty recent, so you might still be covered. If you want a holdover while you figure that out, the RX 570 or 6600 are decent options and might land sub-$100. Just look for something reliable on the used market!

That's a good point about warranty. Worth checking out before buying anything used!

Honestly, for your budget, a GTX 1660 Super or an RX 580 should work well. Those can typically be found for under $100. If you're lucky, you might even snag a GTX 1070 for around $80. Just be careful to check the condition before buying, especially since you're limiting it to second-hand options.

Yeah, the RX 580 is still pretty good for 1080p! Definitely worth a look.

Wow, I'm amazed your 4060 Ti is failing already! As for a replacement, I recommend checking the used market since there aren't really any reliable new options in your price range. The RX 5700 XT could be a great pick; you can often find it for around $150 and it’ll hold up well for 1080p gaming. My buddy still plays on one and it's running fine after years!

I've seen those go for around $150 too, should be solid for your needs!
