Looking for AI Code Review Tools for GitHub PRs

I've been working at my agency, and we've been using Cursor to speed up our feature shipping—it's been a game changer! However, when it comes to code reviews on GitHub pull requests, Cursor doesn't help out. We still rely on manual reviews, which often lead to us missing some pretty obvious mistakes. I've been checking out a ton of tools like Coderabbit, Qodo, Codium, Greptile, etc., but honestly, it's overwhelming. Each site claims to have the 'best AI code review' tool, but a lot of it feels like marketing hype to me. I'm looking for something that can act as a second set of eyes before merging. It doesn't need to be perfect, just effective enough to catch the silly errors that humans tend to overlook. I'd prefer open-source options, but I'm okay with paid tools if they really work well in a production setting. Does anyone here use these tools regularly? What do you recommend?

Have you tried using Claude directly? They offer a GitHub Action integration that works pretty well with the right setup. It’s straightforward and can really help with catching issues before merging. Give it a shot!

Before you dive into any AI tools, consider who is actually going to be held responsible for any mistakes that slip through into production. Is using AI as an excuse acceptable in your workplace? If not, it’s crucial to have a solid strategy in place for handling those errors. Just a thought!

I'm with Greptile, and we’ve got some impressive use cases with companies like Substack and Brex, even Y Combinator’s internal team uses it. You might want to check us out; we offer a two-week free trial, which can help you see if it fits your needs!

We built our own AI code review tool using AWS Bedrock. We integrate it as a GitHub Action which automatically reviews Python and Terraform code based on our standards. The beauty of this setup is how customizable it is; we're planning to add support for JavaScript in the future too!
