I'm currently using BeyondTrust's Privileged Remote Access solution for contractors and vendors who support certain enterprise applications. However, I'm exploring alternatives because the costs keep increasing, and while BeyondTrust is reliable and low maintenance, it feels pricey for our needs. Here are the features we require: approval request emails for access, limited server functionalities, and session recording. We have around 25 servers configured for this access, and I'm curious if there are better options out there that can still meet our requirements without breaking the bank.

I've heard good things about Imprivata's vendor PAM access solution. It's worth a look. For internal needs, we use Clickstudios Passwordstate, which is much cheaper, but be warned, it can be a bit more cumbersome compared to the big-name PAM solutions.
You might also consider Keeper and Delinea as alternatives. They've got some good features that might fit your needs without the hefty price tag.
CyberArk has a solid vendor remote access tool, but it's really designed for organizations that are already using their Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution. Limiting functionalities on the server can get tricky, though. If you go with CyberArk, they do offer EPM, but keep in mind it needs internet access and is more about managing what can be launched rather than enabling direct server access.
I have some concerns about BeyondTrust myself. When I start it up, it takes about 3-5 minutes to refresh all the assets we have since we're handling around 200K. Can't imagine that would be fun for new deployments! Just something to consider if you're going for it.
I looked into ScreenConnect and other similar tools, and while they appear cheaper, once you add on features like approval workflows, session recording, and in-session controls, the costs can escalate. If you're part of the CyberArk ecosystem, exploring their options could be wise, but if not, definitely try out multiple contenders to see who handles approvals and recordings best before making your decision.

Yeah, that delay can be really frustrating, especially if you're in a hurry. Definitely worth keeping in mind!
