I'm reaching out because I'm trying to remember an older music player I used ages ago, back in the DOS days. It had this incredible feature where, when you played a CD, it generated mesmerizing fractals or soundwave visuals that were really captivating to watch. I think it had to be a DOS program since it was before Winamp was even around. Can anyone help me figure out what it was?

There were other options like Windows Media Player and Sonique that created some visual effects too. But Cthugha was definitely a standout for those cool fractals!
Yeah, I remember that. Cthugha was a bit of a pain to get working with the Sound Blaster drivers back in the day. But once it was set up, those visuals were epic! Made late-night sessions so much fun.
You might also be thinking of Winamp with the MilkDrop plugin. Not DOS, but that combo was super popular and had amazing visuals that responded to the music.
That sounds a lot like Cthugha! It had some wild visuals going on when you played music. So mesmerizing! Glad you found it but definitely a blast from the past.
