I'm building my first PC and I recently bought a motherboard from a marketplace. It powers on and lights up, but unfortunately, it doesn't post. I've checked that all the cables are connected properly and that my HDMI is plugged into the GPU. My CPU should be supported right out of the box, but since it seems to be malfunctioning, I'm looking to sell it for parts and get a new motherboard. Here are my specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
- ID-COOLING SE-214-XT ARGB CPU Cooler
- G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
- Silicon Power A60 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
- Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB Video Card
- Case: Lian Li Lancool 207 ATX Mid Tower Case
Also, just to note, my graphics card is a triple-fan model and occupies two brackets. I have a PCIe wifi card, so the motherboard doesn't need wifi or Bluetooth support. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a motherboard that isn't compatible out of the box with the 2000 series Ryzen CPUs, especially if it's a B350 or B450 model. If the previous owner didn't update the BIOS, that could definitely be a reason it's not posting. You might want to look for a motherboard that definitely states support for your CPU from the start, like an X470 or B550. Those are usually more reliable in terms of compatibility.

Yeah, I’ve heard some of the B350 and B450 boards can be finicky with Ryzen 2000 series unless the BIOS has been updated. Definitely check out X470 boards like the MSI B450 Tomahawk. They have great reviews and should suit your needs!
