Hey everyone! I put together my first PC about 5-6 years ago and haven't upgraded anything since. Although I don't game as much these days, I'd like to boost my setup to handle CS2 better. I'm not super knowledgeable about hardware, so I'm hoping you can suggest upgrades that won't cost a fortune. Here are my current specs:
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Operating System: Windows 11
- Monitor: 240Hz
Right now, I can only get around 110fps on low graphics, and I often experience frame drops. I can provide more details or pictures if needed!

First off, what's the wattage of your power supply? If you've got a decent 750W one, you can upgrade your GPU without issues. If not, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 or 5600X next, then get a good 750W power supply. Then, any of the used AMD GPUs like the 6700XT would be a great upgrade. You could also bump your RAM to 32GB for better overall performance!
By the way, I noticed you didn't list your RAM speed. The Ryzen 3000 series really benefits from faster RAM. If yours is lower than 3000MHz, that could be an issue. For a decent performance boost, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600X3D or 5700X3D; they'll work with your motherboard and are affordable upgrades. But make sure your RAM speed is at least 3200MHz for best results!
Here are my RAM specs: 16.0 GB at 2133 MT/s, using 2 out of 4 slots.
How are you getting 110fps at low settings? My lower-spec PC runs CS2 at medium 1080p at over 180fps. If you're not keen to upgrade your CPU, I'd definitely recommend getting a new GPU. Your current setup should handle 1080p gaming just fine with the right graphics card!
Honestly, it’s kind of hit or miss for me. Some days I hit close to 180fps, but other times I’m stuck around 90-110. I’m gaming at 1920x1080.

I'm not sure about the power supply. I can only see that it says 100-240V on the cable.
