Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first gaming PC and I want to keep the costs low without sacrificing too much performance. Currently, I'm looking at assembling a system with a B550 motherboard, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, GTX 1070 Ti GPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm not too concerned about having high-end graphics since I primarily play indie games, and as long as I can hit 60 FPS at 720p, I'm content. I don't have a strict budget, but ideally, I would like to keep costs down, maybe going up to around $800-$1000 if necessary. I'm also thinking about future-proofing by potentially upgrading to a B650 motherboard and DDR5 RAM later on. I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions you all might have!

A Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a GTX 1070 Ti was a solid choice a while back, but things have shifted. If you're really on a budget, consider leaning towards a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 6600 for a more current setup. If you decide to go with AM5, a Ryzen 5 9600X and RX 9060 XT 16GB could work well too. Just start with a budget, and let that guide your choices. There's no one-size-fits-all solution!
It would really help if you had at least a rough budget in mind to work with. That way, we can give more tailored advice!
Right now, excluding peripherals and PSU, my build is about $500. I'm not aiming for a powerhouse since I still use my PS5 a lot; it's mainly for indie games and modding, like Terraria and Isaac. I’d like to keep it below $800 if possible.
Thanks for the input! Currently, my build's costing about $500 according to userbenchmark, and I’d probably max out around $800-$1000.
