Looking for Budget SATA SSD Recommendations

I'm in need of some suggestions for a SATA SSD. My motherboard has only one M.2 slot, and it's already occupied, so I can only go with a SATA drive. I've been running out of space lately, so I'm considering getting either a 2TB or 1TB SSD. I heard about the Crucial MX500, but at €150, that's a bit steep for me. I mostly use my PC for gaming and some light office work, so I don't have demanding needs. Ideally, I'd like to keep my budget below €100, but I'm open to going a bit higher if absolutely necessary. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Have you thought about getting a larger M.2 drive instead? You can easily clone your current drive to a new one using a cheap USB enclosure. Recently, I've noticed that SATA SSDs aren't much cheaper than good NVMe options, yet the NVMe drives are way faster.

That's a good point, but I would need at least a 3TB M.2 to make that work, and I'd rather just add an extra drive.

If you're looking for something classic, the Samsung 870 EVO is a reliable option. Just keep in mind it's a bit pricier than the MX500, though.

Yeah, the 870 EVO is great but it costs even more than the MX500!

I ran into the same problem with my build! You might want to check out the Teamgroup Vulcan Z 2.5" SSDs. They’re pretty affordable and should fit your needs just fine.

I actually just found a 2TB Teamgroup Vulcan Z for around €110, so it’s close to what you're looking for!
