Hey everyone! I'm hoping to upgrade my small business network and could really use your advice on finding the right router. I need something that supports IPSec VPN (which we currently use, but I'm open to other secure options), has Dual WAN for failover, solid firewall capabilities, and can handle around 20 users (potentially growing to 30).
Right now, we have 10 employees who connect remotely via the VPN and then access our two Windows Server 2022 machines using RDP. Additionally, I self-host RustDesk for remote support and StirlingPDF for document processing.
I'm looking for something easy to manage and reliable over time. If it supports VLANs and has a user-friendly interface, that's a huge plus! I'm also considering firewall/router combos if they aren't too complicated to maintain. If you've had good experiences with specific models or setups in similar environments, please share! Thanks in advance!

Check out the UniFi gateway; it fits your needs really well. You might want to consider the Dream Machine Pro or the Cloud Gateway, depending on your budget and location.
I recommend looking into OPNsense; that setup should work great for your business. It's flexible and powerful in handling your networking needs.
Have you considered Cloudflare Zero Trust? It's free for up to 50 users and could provide excellent security without exposing your public IP. It's a bit complex but worth it for the added security.
I usually run OPNsense on a mini PC; it works well and gives you that extra performance you’ll need as you grow.
The Draytek 28xx is a solid choice at a reasonable price. Alternatively, if you're okay with some setup effort, pfsense or OPNsense on a small NUC could be ideal.
