I'm about to assemble my first PC after using a gaming laptop for the last seven years, and I'm honestly a bit unsure about my choices. I've gone through Linus's "How to build a PC" guide, but mostly I've been selecting parts based on popularity on PC Part Picker. I want to game with this new build and currently, I have a spare 120Hz monitor, which I might upgrade to a 240Hz later if my PC can handle it. I'm slightly over my budget but am open to adjusting if necessary. Here's my build link: [PC Part Picker](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zLHWLc).

Have you considered visiting a Microcenter? It can really help with pricing if you can find one nearby. Also, what's your ideal budget? You mentioned wanting to stay under $2300, but it sounds like you're getting closer to $2600-$2700 with your current selections.
It sounds like you might have some components that could be scaled back. For example, look into your storage options, RAM, and the CPU cooling system. These are areas where many first-time builders overspend without fully understanding their needs. You might find some savings there!
Yeah, there are a couple of Microcenters around NYC, so that could work. Just trying to keep everything under control budget-wise!
