Looking for Feedback on My Gaming PC Build!

Hey everyone! I'm finally upgrading from my old ASUS gaming laptop after 7 years and I'm diving into the world of PC building. I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the parts, compatibility, and specs needed for a mid to high-end gaming rig. My budget is $3,000. I'd love your advice on improving my build, making it more efficient or cost-effective, while ensuring it lasts at least another 7 years. Also, is it a good idea to mix fans with liquid cooling in the same build if I have enough space? I'm concerned about overheating and the potential issues if that happens. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Here's my build list: [PCPartPicker Link](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KJZPLc)

You might want to consider the 9070 XT if you can find it at a similar price. It could give you better performance without breaking the bank.

True! The 7900 XT offers more VRAM and can perform equally well, if not better, in some cases.

I made several changes to your list for better performance and lower costs. Check out the new build I created: [PCPartPicker Link](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x83MKq). I swapped out the CPU for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, changed the CPU cooler, and picked a cheaper motherboard that still gives you great features. Let me know if you have questions!

Thanks for the new build! Should I still add case fans, or will the CPU cooler keep everything cool enough?

You’ve got a liquid cooler AND an air cooler in the mix, which is overkill! You only need one, so you could cut down on costs. Also, your PSU is way too powerful for your current needs; you could probably get away with a 1000W supply and still have room to spare. Maybe downgrade to a CPU like the 7800X3D and invest in a better GPU like the 7900 XTX or 9070XT instead.

Totally get it! I wasn't sure if I should go all out with the cooling options, so I played it safe. Thanks for the heads up!
