Hey everyone! I'm building a PC for my girlfriend, who's switching from Apple and Nintendo to gaming on Windows. She mainly plays Fortnite and I want the system to run it (and other recent games) smoothly at 60fps with high graphics settings on a 24" 1920x1080 monitor. Here's what I've chosen for the build:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 3 GHz 8-Core Processor
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE 66.17 CFM
- **Motherboard**: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4
- **RAM**: G.SKill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18
- **Storage**: Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD
- **GPU**: XFS Speedster QICK 319 BLACK Radeon RX 7700 XT 12 GB
- **Case**: Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower Case
- **PSU**: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 (2024) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX
- **Monitor**: AOC 24G15N 23.8" 1920 x 1080 180 Hz Monitor

I understand I might need to update the BIOS for the CPU to work, and I'm committed to the AM4 platform. I'd love to hear any thoughts, criticisms, or guidance you might have before I finalize my purchase. Thanks a ton!

I think going for the 5700X3D makes sense if you got it at a good price, but honestly, you could consider switching to the AM5 platform with an R5-7600 instead. It generally offers better gaming performance, especially for newer titles. The RX 7700 XT may also be more than what’s needed for Fortnite, but it should keep up with any future updates on that front. Just make sure it aligns with your girlfriend's gaming preferences!

Thanks for the insights! I got the 5700X3D half off which is why I went for it. My girlfriend isn't as interested in AAA titles, so I just wanted something solid for Fortnite. Would you say the benefits of AM5 justify the price increase?
