My RX 6900 XT just gave out on me out of nowhere, and now I'm on the hunt for a new graphics card. I'm ready to spend some money, so I'm thinking of going big. I really want a 5090, but I have no clue when they might be back in stock. If I need to settle for another card, I'd appreciate some recommendations! Thanks a bunch!

The high-end GPU market is a mess right now. The 7900 XT/XTX is one of the less screwed-up options but still tends to be overpriced. Cards like the 4080 and 5080 are starting around 1.5k, while the 4090 and 5090 can cost at least 3k.
Are you in the US? If you're thinking of upgrading your monitor too, there's a decent combo deal available for a 5090 and a good 4K OLED which isn’t terrible price-wise. Otherwise, the 5070 Ti is one of the few cards that isn't way overpriced right now, but keep in mind it's on a lower performance level than the 5090.
You should consider going for a 4070 Ti Super! It's a fantastic card. I wouldn't dive too deep into the 50 series since I've seen quite a few complaints about their AI-assisted frame generation. Also, AMD cards are making a solid comeback in the higher price range, so check those out too.
But the 4070 Ti Supers are pricier than a 5070 Ti, which doesn’t quite add up.
I know, right? Everything is out of stock and the price hikes are crazy. I'm really hoping the market stabilizes soon so we can snag decent GPUs without breaking the bank.
