I'm in the market for a new GPU because my current one is acting up with overheating and graphics tearing. Right now, I'm on a 3070 that came with my HP Omen 15L, but I think it's at the end of its life. I'm considering upgrading, and although I'm open to both AMD and Nvidia, I don't want to spend too much. I'm particularly eyeing the RX 9060 XT due to its VRAM and price point. However, since I've only used RTX cards, I'm wondering how much of a performance drop I might see and whether it will impact my gaming experience with graphics output. My setup includes an i7-12700 with 32GB of 5200 MHz DDR5 RAM, and I mostly game at 1440p on an LG Ultragear monitor. Ideally, I want to play most mainstream games at high or ultra settings without going for 4K. Any recommendations or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

The 9060 XT should give you around 25% more performance in rasterization, plus better upscaling. Definitely check benchmarks for the games you play to see if the performance increase is worth the cost. If you want high FPS at 1440p, I’d suggest looking at either the 9070 or 9070 XT, but that really depends on the games you're aiming to play.
The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and RX 9060 XT 16GB are slightly faster than the 3070 in most cases where 8GB of VRAM is fine. But if you want a real upgrade, consider the RX 9070 instead!

I mostly play Overwatch and other less demanding games, so I might not go for the higher-end options right now. Just trying to find something that fits my budget!
