Hey everyone! I'm starting a new irrigation company and I'm trying to put together a simple yet attractive website. I recently had a tough time getting SSH access with my current hosting provider, Trentahost, and I'm not sure if I should stick with them or switch after paying $175. I'm not looking to code everything from scratch since I haven't written code in years, but I want to have a good base to build on. My website needs the following pages: Home, Services, Contact Us, Reviews, and Jobs. I'm particularly interested in having a reviews page where customers can submit their feedback, as well as a contact form that connects to my email. I want something user-friendly and visually appealing, so if you have suggestions on what tools or platforms I could use—especially if they can handle my requirements without needing too much technical hassle—I'd really appreciate it!

Honestly, I think you might want to consider outsourcing your website development. However, if you're set on doing it yourself, you really don't necessarily need SSH access for what you're trying to accomplish. As long as your hosting allows you to use open-source software, you should be good to go. Just look for a solid content management system (CMS) that fits your needs.
Totally get it! I also remember using Bootstrap but I'm curious about what's popular now in terms of design.
I understand your struggle with the lack of SSH. You might want to switch providers for more control. Alternatively, you can try to learn the built-in cPanel tools, but I know that can be tough when you're already busy with long work hours. Just focus on finding an open-source solution that looks modern and has the features you need. There are definitely better options out there than outdated resources!
Sounds like you’ve been overcharged. I personally recommend using Contabo—great value! If you get VS Code with GitHub Copilot, it can really help you out with everything you need for building your site.
I feel you! Most of the tools I'm finding are really outdated too. It’s like there have to be better choices instead of just the typical React or Bootstrap dashboards.
That's true, but for the tutorial I was following, I needed SSH access. I'm used to managing things via terminal and it's been frustrating only having cPanel. I want to build an admin panel too for future functionality, but I need to get something up quickly.
