Looking for Help on My First PC Build: Motherboard and Component Suggestions

Hey everyone! I'm putting together my first PC build and could really use some advice. I've saved up around $1300 for the parts because I'm planning to game a lot, including VR and mods. I've been checking things out on PCPartPicker and created a build list, but I'm unsure about the motherboard options. I definitely want WiFi since I've seen others have trouble with internet connectivity without it. Right now, I'm considering the MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Max WiFi ATX AM4. However, I've noticed some warnings about compatibility, especially with ASUS boards. If anyone has suggestions on which motherboard to go with or any components to swap out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your help!

For your budget, aiming for the AM5 platform is a smart move. It's generally better to go with Ethernet over WiFi for stability, but I know not everyone can run a cable. Just an FYI!

I appreciate the tip! I’ve heard Ethernet is better but didn’t realize it mattered that much.

Before diving into recommendations, could you share what country you're in? That way, we can give advice that's more relevant to your market!

I’m in North America. Is the market really that different?

You mentioned $1300, but your build looks to be around $860. Are you open to going closer to $1100? If so, consider upgrading to a newer platform that supports better performance, especially for VR gaming. Nvidia graphics cards like the one I suggested tend to have better performance in that arena. Plus, I recommend a more reliable power supply to ensure stable operation over time, especially with a 10-year warranty!

Absolutely fine with the price increase! Didn't realize I was cheaping out on parts. Thanks for the heads-up about power supplies!
