I'm planning to switch from Windows 10 to Linux and I'm specifically looking for a laptop with a large display—ideally around 18 inches—though I could settle for 17.3 inches if needed. My budget is under $2,000, and I'm mainly going to use it for basic tasks like browsing the web and watching videos. I'd love any recommendations for laptops that work well with Linux right out of the box or suggestions for Windows laptops that are known to be Linux-compatible.

18 inches does limit your options since it's not a common size for laptops. You might want to aim for something in the 16-18 inch range. For a laptop that runs Linux perfectly, check out the Framework 16". What's your budget?

I'm aiming to keep it under 2k USD. I need a large screen for basic use, and if 18" is too hard to find, I'd consider 17.3".
