Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for recommendations for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions. My workplace prefers to keep things in-house and is not keen on cloud-based options, so I'm hoping to find something that comes with a local management console. We primarily use Windows workstations, although there are some Linux desktops and servers in the mix, but I'm mostly focused on Windows. Is there a chance I can find a viable EDR solution that operates locally, or is it basically cloud or nothing these days? Thanks!

I heard that Kaspersky's solutions avoid cloud reliance, but some folks stay away from them because they're Russian-made. Just sharing a word of caution. If you're looking for local options, you might also consider Trend Micro and ESET, as they can run entirely on-prem.
Most EDR solutions tend to rely on cloud features these days. Unless you're part of a tightly-regulated industry, I think running everything in-house can be a bit overkill and wasteful. But I'm curious, is there a specific reason your company insists on on-prem capabilities, or is it just a preference for control?
SentinelOne does offer an on-prem deployment option if you're looking for something robust. You might also want to check out Kaspersky's EDR or Bitdefender GravityZone, both of which can be set up on-premises and focus heavily on behavioral analysis and threat response.
We are also all about on-prem solutions! We used ESET EDR before, and it worked well enough with easy deployment and manageable alerts. However, we switched to Sophos XDR, their cloud version, and it's a game changer for us. Just a lot more features and better real-time monitoring.
Yeah, I get that. We also dislike having our data handled by third parties, especially when it comes to concerns about privacy and security. There have been incidents where cloud services go down, which makes us wary of depending on them too much. We try to manage what we can, like having redundant internet paths to minimize risks.
