Hey everyone! I'm a computer engineering student at university and I've always wanted to learn programming, especially for game development. Unfortunately, the quality of the lessons at my university hasn't been great, and I've ended up learning very little, losing my motivation in the process. I even failed a programming course! I'm really eager to turn things around and would love to find a mentor who can help me learn C and C#, and possibly other languages later on. I'm open to any form of communication to make this happen. Thanks in advance!

I’d suggest picking up a couple of programming books and working through them at your own pace. It's a great way to learn the fundamentals!
You know, lectures aren't meant to teach everything—they're more like reviews for the self-study you do with textbooks. I’d recommend 'Effective C'—I read it a few months back and found it super helpful!
That makes sense, but lectures should also inspire us, right? My first teacher had a hard time explaining things clearly, and the resources were outdated. It left me lost and unmotivated, which is why I struggled in the programming class. I'm finally ready to learn, but I'm not sure how to start.
Check out the FAQ section on this site; they have great resources for learning programming. If you're focused on C, definitely grab a good book and study it!

But do physical books still work well with all the online resources we have now? I'm also looking for mentorship, maybe even an unpaid internship would be helpful.
